Fredericksburg
On July 4th Mark, Larry, John and I traveled down the road to Fredericksburg. There is much more history here than just the Civil War. We started from the Visitor Center and took the short guided tour of the "Stone Wall" after watching the movie inside.

Remnants of the wall today. Looking over the wall to the area in front is now completely residential.

Richard Rowland Kirkland, the "Angel of Marye's Heights", killed at Antietam:

John, Larry, and Mark (at end of row) listen to guide:

How did the guy get shot in the KNEE standing behind the stone wall??:

After taking the pictures above inside the Visitor Center I traveled to the other side of the Rappahannock to tour the Chatham Manor. The grounds were awesome around the house. Get your wives, gentlemen, as they will surely enjoy the scenery.

My favorite picture of the trip. I use it as the background on my computer now:

This room was used as the amputation room during Federal occupation. the floor was covered in blood:

Just up the street from the Confederate Cemetery is the home of George Washington's mother:

Lee's Hill:

You can see why Lee picked this spot with the shelter and the elevated concrete pedestal to stand on:

Pickett's Division:

Trench remains still visible:
